Welcome to Avoriaz 1800, the only entirely pedestrianised resort in France! Designed with your comfort and the environment in mind, the journey to your hotel is a unique and magical experience, with sleighs and snow taxis as your main transport.
Arriving at the Resort
Our transfer partners will bring you to the Avoriaz Arrivals Centre, the resort's 24/7 reception hub at 1,800 metres. Friendly receptionists are on hand to provide directions and information.
Facilities at the Arrivals Centre:
- Horse and Sleighs: Make your arrival truly unforgettable with a horse ride in the snow from reception to your front door. (Prices available here) After dark, the snow-cats join in to handle taxi services. While the Sled-drivers do have card machines, cash is appreciated!
- Self-Service Luggage Sledges: A fun DIY option (requires a €1 or €2 coin).
- Heated Waiting Room & Hot Drinks Machine: Warm up after your journey.
- Luggage Room: Available Saturdays from 8:00 - 17:30 for €2 per bag.

Getting to Your Accommodation
The internal transport service is easy to use. No reservations are needed for arrivals.
- Simply order your snow taxi with a receptionist when you are ready.
- Alternatively, hire a luggage sledge and enjoy a scenic walk through the snowy streets.
A Smooth Departure: Your Guide
The process for your departure day depends on the time you leave.
📅 For Saturday Departures (The Busiest Day)
- Between 8:00 - 11:30: Receptionists in yellow vests will be circulating outside apartment buildings. When you're ready, just step outside and flag one down - they pass by approximately every 5 minutes.
- Pro Tip: To avoid the crowds, we recommend leaving before 9:00 or after 11:00.
