Avoriaz 1800 is the only fully pedestrianised resort in France, so there are no cars. Instead, sleighs and snow taxis are the main way to get around, which makes the journey to your accommodation part of the experience.

Arriving at the resort
Your transfer partner will bring you to the Avoriaz Arrivals Centre, the resort's 24/7 reception hub at 1,800 metres. Receptionists are on hand for directions and information.
Facilities at the Arrivals Centre include:
- Horse and sleigh rides. A memorable way to travel from reception to your door. After dark, snow-cats also run taxi services. Drivers have card machines, though cash is appreciated.
- Self-service luggage sledges. A do-it-yourself option (a coin is required, which is returned when you bring the sledge back).
- Heated waiting room and hot drinks machine.
- Luggage room. Available on Saturdays during the day, for a small charge per bag.
- Public toilets.
Getting to Your Accommodation
The internal transport service is easy to use. No reservations are needed for arrivals.
- Simply order your snow taxi with a receptionist when you are ready.
- Alternatively, hire a luggage sledge and enjoy a scenic walk through the snowy streets.
A Smooth Departure: Your Guide
The process for your departure day depends on the time you leave.
For Saturday Departures (The busiest day)
- Between 8:00 - 11:30: Receptionists in yellow vests will be circulating outside apartment buildings. When you're ready, just step outside and flag one down - they pass by approximately every 5 minutes.
- Pro Tip: To avoid the crowds, we recommend leaving before 9:00 or after 11:00.
