Heading off on a ski weekend with just 10kg cabin luggage? It takes a bit of planning, but it’s absolutely manageable – the right kit makes all the difference. Sticking to hand luggage keeps things cheaper and simpler too: no bag drop queues, no waiting at carousels, and no oversized ski bags to haul around resort. Just pack smart and head straight to the slopes. To help, we asked our friends at Snow+Rock to put together the ultimate packing list for a 3-day ski weekend, along with some of their top kit recommendations.
Please check out our blog here for more details!
Essentials to Pack (approx. weights shown):
Backpack/daypack (1kg) – doubles as your cabin bag.
Ski pants (600g).
Fleece (500g) + technical mid-layer (350g).
Base layers set (550g).
3x underwear (300g), 3x ski socks (300g).
Ski gloves (300g), goggles (200g), neckwarmer (50g), glove liners (30g).
Top Tips:
Wear ski jacket/shoes on the plane.
Hire skis/boots in resort to save weight.
Keep goggles, gloves, and small accessories in jacket pockets if tight on space.
This list should leave ~6kg spare for non-ski clothes and holiday bits.
Once you’ve packed that lot, don’t forget these!
